When you have goals, you have a purpose in life, and it keeps you going. Having dreams is fantastic. Dreams are here to change your life, and if you follow them, you won’t have regrets. And guess what? You need goals to go further in life

You may have a busy life, or maybe nothing interesting is happening in your life, and you feel unfulfilled. It’s okay. Having goals can change your life for the best. It gives you that energy to do more and to live your life as you should. 

One thing to remember, it is never too early and never too late to change your life. Appreciate what you have and what you will have in the future.

1. BUILD SELF-CONFIDENCE 

Self-confidence is the most important thing you need to have when setting your goals. Indeed, if you don’t believe in yourself and your dreams, you won’t work towards your goals, and you will not accomplish them. Reflect on yourself and understand that there are no limits in life, and if you push yourself, you can achieve the dreams you have. 

It is true. You have to trust in your capabilities. Even if you failed a lot in life, it does not mean that you can’t achieve your goals. Everyone fails, even the best runners, the richest and the strongest individuals!

2. SET YOUR GOALS 

Yup! You will need to set your goals! Now since this is all new to you, just make sure that you do not create too many goals simultaneously. We recommend the rule of 3 goals at a time if you are just starting! 

Now, before you set your goals, you have to look at your life, where you are, and what you’ve done. Once you have that in your head, try to think of where you want to go in life. If time didn’t exist, what would you do? If you have money, what would you create? Where will you go? What are your goals?

Setting Your Goals (life goals) Questions:

  • Will it change your life?
  • Is it worth sacrificing things in your life for this goal?
  • Will it be worth it one year from now?
  • Is it something you really want?
  • How much do you want it? ( If you are not excited by now, find another goal, and go over these questions again!). When you find the right goal, you will feel inside!  

 

Setting Your Goals (the small ones such as goals at work, goals for school):

  • When can you achieve it?
  • What will you have to sacrifice, and do you accept to sacrifice these things? 
  • Who can help you achieve this small goal? (sometimes all you need is yourself and your self-confidence)

 

3. UNDERSTAND THE REASONS WHY YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE THESE GOALS 

Now go back to the list of questions above, and while you review them, picture the reason why you want to accomplish these goals. 

If you don’t know why you are trying to reach your goals, you will have no drive and probably won’t try to achieve them for more than a day. 

The reasons are so important! People often miss this step. You really need to sit down and take the time to think about YOUR REASONS. It’s okay if it takes you hours to FIND the most significant reasons for why you want to accomplish your goals. 

The more time you spend on this section, the more meaningful your goals will become to you. You can use meditation to think about this or listen to calming music on Youtube. 

Relax and think of all of the reasons that will make you fight any obstacles out there that can stop you from living your dream and reaching your goals successfully. 

This part of setting your goals can be emotional. It should give you a boost. You should feel stronger after finding the reason why you are ready!

4. NOW IT’S TIME TO WRITE YOUR GOALS DOWN!

  • Write them down on a board
  • In your phone

5. WHAT WILL YOUR LIFE BE LIKE WHEN YOU ACHIEVE THESE GOALS?

Think about what will be different in your life when you accomplish your goals. How will your life improve? How proud will you be?

This is so important because if there is no reward, it won’t be essential for you to reach your goals. Always have the picture in your head of your future accomplishments!

 

6. WHEN YOU REACH YOUR GOALS, YOU MUST FEEL GOOD

Don’t try to set and accomplish goals only to make others happy. Practice self-care and love who you are and who you will become. 

You need to reach your goals to make yourself happy and fulfilled. Remember that you do not want to live your life with regrets

 

7. WORK TOWARDS YOUR GOALS STEP BY STEP

You have to accept that you will need to make sacrifices to reach your goals. It’s as simple as that. 

If you are willing to sacrifice, then you have what it takes to achieve a goal. 

Usually, people sacrifice time or money, but it may be something different depending on your goals. 

You also have to understand that you will have to take it one day at a time, step by step, day after day. Little by little, you will feel closer to your goals. 

You create your own drive and fuel. Live your dreams, and just go for the stars! You deserve to dream, and you deserve to reach your goals.  

It’s the small improvement that you make every day that will lead you to your goals and dreams. 

 

8. DO YOU HAVE A VISION BOARD YET?

This is an old trick, but somehow, vision boards are the best! It’s an easy way to put all your goals together in one place. 

It’s true; the images make your goals even more believable. That is so important because how can you accomplish a goal if you don’t even believe in it?

 

9. BE PATIENT

Finally, remember that you have to give yourself credit and don’t be too difficult on yourself. Reaching goals can take time, so give yourself the proper time you need to accomplish them correctly.

Don’t let anyone put you down, and just be patient. If people do not believe that you can accomplish your goals, well, too bad for them.

The most important is that you believe in yourself and have the self-confidence that no one can take away from you

When you are down, when people laugh at you, when people hurt you, use this energy to become the person you want to be

Make sure to have a positive mindset, and don’t forget that patience is key. The longer the wait, the greater the reward.
